Spirit of a People
This documentary is a tribute to the Gullah/Geechee people and their African heritage. Located in the Southeastern U.S. and coastal Sea Islands, modern development threatens loss of land and disruption of economic and social institutions that have sustained these communities across generations. If any, what cultural memory and social institutions still live inside these southern Black communities? Why does culture matter?
This humanitarian project in Northern Thailand touched the lives of children and elders. From aiding rural village elders at a mobile eye clinic to delivering school supplies to a remote Hill Tribe village, international volunteers connect through care and compassion.
